gang violence

these here street gangs are a bunch of children who feel like joining gangs are an easy way of making money and a new trend that is leading them into trouble and jail cells.most of the gangs in seattle are child hood friends who live on the other side of the tracks so they join the gangs in the areas were they live so they want have no problems from the gang members who live in there area when they want to go to the store or something.and some of them or younger family members of people who or already in gangs and want to be like big brother or sister. most of seattle gangs or based around money, drugs, girls, and cars.the violence comes in when one another member of a gang is shot killed are gets into a fight. but some actions of these gang members are not called for like when those who have nothing to do with gangs are involved in these lil bashings and robberys. most gangs to me are jokes why do you need help from someone who has nothing to help you make money. what point is there for the youths to join gangs for protection what protection if you have to put in work to earn street creid there is no protection cause you are still putting yo self in harms way. and if not protection then why so you can make money by standing in the cold selling drugs all night coming home with like 200 to 300 hundred dollars and thats if its a good nite i stiil dont see the reason for joining gangs all of these reasons for joinings gangs are poitless and uncalled for there is no reason just a waist of time. what is say to that is GET OFF YO A** AND GET A MUTHA F***ING JOB LET THIS WORLD HAVE A TIME OFF PEACE

I agree, joining a gang is not a logical choice. I also was amused by a recent article in the times about gang problems in Seattle.
Every city has a gang problem, compare us to LA, New York, or Chicago, you get a perspective of the actual extent of the problem.
Chicago gangs make Seattle gangs look like boy scouts.

Its way past time people pay attention to gang violence i have to admit i didn't know it was so big of a problem in seattle until people i knew started joining gangs and i found out that other people i knew were in 'em too. then then it got personal. but this issue is important and i'm glad to see other young people talking about this. i feel like we are the ones who have the most influence and power because although adults can try and fix these problems, it's way way bigger than that and way bigger than them or any one person. gang violence has just as much to do with racism classism and the system of this government oppressing people of color as it does with people's individual choices. But its true everybody's got a different situation, a different story. to some gang violence is all they know. i just hope more of us can talk about this and help other people we know who are in gangs realize that they are worth more than just a chess piece. and that they can control their own life instead of selling themselves to a gang. keep talkin though, cuz people are gonna listen...

Well, I don't think your classifiacation of all gang members is correct, because you CANT know the circumstanced they are under.
